EDsmart analyzed data on affordability, academic quality, student satisfaction, and post-graduation earnings to identify colleges that provide quality education at an affordable price.

The top 10 Most Affordable Colleges & Universities highlighted in the 2024 EDsmart ranking all have an average net price of less than $3,000 annually. The schools are listed below in order:

1. South Texas College in McAllen, TX, tops the list with an average net price of just $1,291 per year.
2. CUNY Bernard M. Baruch College in New York, NY, is #2, with an average net price of $1,936 per year.
3. California State University-Los Angeles comes in at #3 with an average net price of $2,037 per year.
4. CUNY City College in New York, NY, is #4 on the list, with an average net price of $2,061 per year.
5. CUNY Hunter College in New York, NY, is ranked #5 with an average net price of $2,124 per year.
6. California State University-San Bernardino is #6, with an average net price of $2,232 per year.
7. CUNY Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, NY, is ranked #7 with an average net price of $2,393 per year.
8. CUNY Lehman College in the Bronx, NY, comes in at #8 with an average net price of $2,615 per year.
9. Oglala Lakota College in Kyle, SD, is #9, with an average net price of $2,790 per year.
10. CUNY Queens College in Queens, NY, rounds out the top 10 with an average net price of $2,933 per year.
